For the LRC House in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, architecture firm BDB Arquitectos used modern design elements to overcome the local geography. The house is situated in a natural ravine near the city’s La Plata River and is laid out like a staircase to fit onto the plot’s slope.
The reinforced concrete building is L-shaped, with a ground level courtyard and swimming pool surrounded by the building’s living areas. Above this are the house’s bedrooms, while the third story features a studio and garden terrace that offers views across the river. The minimal interior of the house features exposed concrete, which is offset by wooden details including the bookshelves and tables.
